The fitting of stair parts handrails, newel posts, spindles, or glass / metal systems is like anything you might buy, such as kitchens, bathrooms etc. You can buy the best in the world , but if it’s not fitted correctly, it will probably never be any good !
Here we have shown some before and after photo’s of a typical staircase which features our stair parts that have been fitted by Neil Congreve. Neil is a local joiner who we have recommended for over 25 years. His experience and craftsmanship we think is second to none. He is a stair parts specialist fitter so if you would like a quotation for fitting please contact us and we’ll be happy to forward your details to Neil.
He will be pleased to call you directly to arrange a site visit. (Sheffield, Chesterfield and Rotherham areas only). We naturally need to know what wood type, Style or system you are considering. We normally encourage a shop visit prior to any joiner calling to your home in order for you to select your parts.
We are equally happy to supply the parts on a cash and carry basis should you decide to undertake the work yourself, or if have your own experienced joiner you would prefer to use. We will require a list of parts from you, or your joiner. If you feel you need assistance in preparing your list, we will require your measurements and some photo's of the existing layout including the measurements.
One of the most asked questions is how to replace the full newel posts. If you are unsure how to do this then we strongly recommend you use a professional joiner who has previous experience with staircase fitting.
In most cases the newel post can be replaced. If you are uncertain please bring a photo of your existing posts and staircase with you when you visit the shop to select your stair parts and we’ll be pleased to give our opinion.
